CANYONEERING.INFO is a place to come and enjoy the beauty of what has been created for us by God. It is now and always will be a work in progress. I will constantly be updating and adding to it. I would appreciate comments and suggestions please send them to Greg Brown. I hope that with time I will add trip reports and possibly beta for some of the canyons, if you see a place that you are just dying to go to drop me a line and I'll try and give you the beta if I can remember. Each link below will take you to galleries from that region. I hope that you enjoy !!

California has it all. Ocean, lakes, rivers, streams, mountains, deserts, trees, flowers, animals, petroglyphs, hills, dales, waterfalls, state parks, national parks, county parks, city parks and oh yes canyons. The canyons are spectacular. They are unique and beautiful albeit very different than the twisty, turny, curvy and (mostly) dry Utah canyons. Here you had better bring the whole bag of tricks. These are not your rap-and-swim kiddie canyons. They will physically, mentally and emotionaly challenge you every step of the way. Last Updated Jan. 15, 2005 9:50pm(PST) |
Utah aka Mecca of the North American canyoneering community. This is the place that got me started chimenying, stemming, climbing, sliding, swimming and rappelling through vertical slots etched by wind, water, and time. There is everything from amusement park like lines at certain rappels to complete solitude where you find it hard to believe that another has passed before you. The adventures range from a nice family stroll thourgh a sandy wash to a heart pounding 60 feet off the deck and not knowing if you'll be making it home. Last Updated Jan. 17, 2005 11:52pm(PST) |
International You step off the plane and the first thing you notice is that you don't understand a word as your new adventure begins. The struggles are three times as hard and the rewards are three times as sweet. The old adage that you got to pay to play rings ever so true when your feet are planted on foreign soil. As my canyoning repetoire expands so will my international destinations. I currently have only been exploring in Mexico and Canada. I hope as time goes by that I will get to sample some of the European, South American, and Australian canyons. Last Updated Jan. 18, 2005 12:05am(PST) |
Miscellaneous This is my playground. Here is where you can find some of my other interests and pasttimes. If you look hard you may even found out something about me. I will express and expose new ideas and themes for the website. Here is where you can find links to other good canyoneering and mountain biking sites. I eventually plan to create another site about mountain biking in California, Utah, Canada and Mexico here is where it will have it's infancy and the ideas will unfold.
